A five star hotel located at the entrance area to the archeological
park in Petra. It consists of seven stories including 153 rooms,
as well as a swimming pool, courts, sport facilities, landscaped
areas (8,000m2), retail shops, several dining facilities and a business
center. The hotel functions are grouped around a large atrium providing
a space for visual relief such as the cocktail lounge. The architectural
features include the use of simple decorative bands in stones, elaborate
wooden screens, metal works, and delicate marble patterns. The neo-traditional
character of the building is reminiscent of the great palaces and
khans of the Arab region, and relates to the urban morphology of
Wadi Musa through its scale and articulation.
