This project was awarded as a result of winning first prize in an architectural competition. The project includes mosque, Dar al-Quran (school), Library, Administration building, a commercial center, staff residences, Friday market, and landscaped area.
The concept stems from the attention to connect the mausoleums of the prophet Companions in the Jordan Valley by a spiritual path that penetrates the project from north to south. Courtyard gardens are introduced to enhance the quality of space and to offer relief from heat. Water is used for display and sound, while fruit trees provide color and shade. The architectural image is inspired by the rich heritage of Islamic architecture in a contemporary interpretation.
